We provide the spectroscopic classification (Table 1 in Agostino et al. 2021) for the 339,805 SDSS galaxies considered
in that work. The table contains four columns.
Column
1: SDSS Object ID
Column
2: General emission line
classification:
0 = not classifiable (SNR lower than 2 in Halpha or [NII])
1 = BPT star-forming (all four lines have SNR>2)
2 = [NII]/Halpha star-forming (Hbeta or [OIII] too weak (SNR<2) for BPT
classification)
3 = [NII]/Halpha Seyfert/LINER
(Hbeta or [OIII] too weak for BPT classification)
4 = BPT galaxies in between the Stasinska et al.
(2006) cut (log ([NII]/Halpha)=-0.4) and the adopted
cut to select S/L (log([NII]/Halpha)=-0.35). More
likely SF than S/L
5 = BPT Seyfert/LINER (S/L) selected using a
modified Kauffmann et al. (2003) demarcation
Column
3: k-means classification of
BPT S/L based
on seven emission lines (including [OI]). Emission line fluxes have SF
contributions statistically removed from them:
0 = not a BPT S/L
1 = Sy2
2 = H-LINER
3 = S-LINER
9 = BPT S/L which had low SNR in [OI], [SII], or [OII] (or lines was
not observed) and could not be
classified further
Column
4: k-means classification of
BPT S/L based
on six emission lines if [OI] is not detected, but otherwise based on seven lines
and therfore identical to column 3. Flags have the
same meaning as for Column 3, except that 9 indicates low SNR in [SII]
or [OII].
